SteelHacks is an event hosted at the University of Pittsburgh, through the School of Computing and Information, for students at colleges & universities across the US who are passionate about getting their hands dirty using technology and design.

This year is the ninth annual SteelHacks hackathon. Each year students from around the Pittsburgh area and beyond come together to hack and make cool stuff.

FAQ

Who can attend SteelHacks?
Any undergraduate or graduate student at any college in the U.S.! Non-Pitt college undergraduate students must be at least 18 years old. Unfortunately, high school students can’t attend this year.
Does this cost money?
Nope! The event is free.
Where will SteelHacks be held?
SteelHacks 2023 will be in person on the 3rd Floor of the Information Sciences Building (135 N Bellefield Ave).

I missed the confirmation deadline! Can I still come?
Send us an email to steelhacks@pittcsc.org, and we'll see if we can find you a spot!
How do teams work?
Teams can consist of up to 4 people, though you can have any amount less than that as well.
What is the code of conduct for this event?
All participants of SteelHacks 2023 will be required to follow the MLH code of conduct that can be found here.
What is my registration used for?
We participate in Major League Hacking (MLH) as a MLH Member Event. You authorize us to share certain application/registration information for event administration, ranking, MLH administration, and occasional messages about hackathons in line with the MLH Privacy Policy.
